The Wailua area is chock-full of things to do and places to see. Wailua River State Park is a good place to start. You'll discover two excellent beach parks at the mouth of the river, while upstream are heiaus, petroglyphs, royal birth stones, and the Kamokila Hawaiian folk village. Here, too, are great views of Opaekaa Waterfall. Meanwhile, up Highway 56 a bit toward Kapaa you'll pass Coconut Market Place, an extensive mall that caters to every taste, and it's surrounded by your choice of quality hotels and condominiums. |
