Anahola
1. Anahola Mountain
Anahola has retained a natural Hawaiian village ambience. Its majestic mountains are visible from miles away and are as distinctive as "Bali Hai" on the North Shore. Nestled beneath Anahola mountain is a Hawaiian Homes community, a charming, crescent bay with a long sand beach, reefs for exploring and fishing and a large park for games, camping (County permits required), and just plain relaxing.

The highway running through Anahola is cheerfully interrupted by roadside stands offering fresh flower lei, refreshing shave ice, and Hawaiian style foods. The Anahola Post Office is flanked by a convenience store and hamburger stand and the Anahola Baptist Church sits quietly across the road at the foot of the mountain.

People tend to drive through Anahola quickly on their way to the North Shore, but this lovely spot, proudly cared for by its residents, deserves a leisurely visit. Drive slowly when you turn off the highway...the kids may be playing nearby.
